Welcome
Moonrise on Caddo Lake
Oil on Linen 27x64 $9500.00
Hated to see this one leave the Gallery. Sold to a La. native who went to Florida. Said it remined him of where he used to duck hunt. Good home.
Peaceful Retreat / Oil on Linen / 27x64 / $9500
I hung my hammock and slept under these extraordinary trees. The undulating layers of moss created a dreamlike aesthetic.
Caddo Lake, Evening Glow
Oil 30x48" $6500
One of my favorites. A glowing jewell with bold brushwork and high energy.
Sunrise, Caddo Lake
Oil on Linen 27x64 $9500
Very quiet piece. I awoke to this image from a hammock over the boat. Glad for that.
The Spirit of New Orleans,
Jewell of the South
Oil on Linen 48x84 $100,000
A marathon work suspended by Hurricane Katrina. Lots of people have told me it's the best painting by a La. artist they've seen. Truthful image.
Evening on Caddo Lake, Oil on Linen, 36x64
$9500
Reflections...perhaps a divine, artistic device and allegory, tacitly encouraging us to reflect? "Eyes that see and ears that hear...".
Mossy Break on Caddo Lake, Oil on Linen (Sold)
The moss in this area is magnificent. Like a fine drapery, hanging, flowing with the wind. Nature makes it easy for a landscape artist.
The Solitary Bird
Oil 36x48 $6500
The simplicity of solitude allows energy to be employed toward personal perspective and vision. Extraordinary Vision is the essence of life.
Perseverence, Manchac Lighthouse / Oil on Linen / $15,000
Religious themed work dedicated to a young girl named Ethelyn Dobson. The Piece is on loan to the La. Treasures Museum in Springfield.
A Good Day's Work / Oil on Wood / $9500
My cattleman/veterinarian neighbor posed for this image. Appreciation and the good art that celebrates it is everywhere.
Marshglow, Hibuscus
Oil on Canvas / 30x48 / $6500
A Classic, light-filled Southern Swamp with a 'formal' aesthetic.
Ted Lewis, A Life Lived
(Private Commission)
The Corvette stayed in Ted's den. The coat was worn at Ted's high school graduation. The store was his Grandfather's, where Ted got his start.
Down the Hill
Oil on Linen / $25,000 (Sold)
I was a Boy Scout usher when young but had never watched the Band come 'down the hill'. When the Flags go up, the spirit is indescribable!
Tiger Heaven / Oil on Linen / 40x72 / $25,000
I oft mused that if a 100 ' high Jesus were to hover over this scene and call His flock up, they'd beg for a next day reschedule. It's that good!
The Skimmer / Oil on Linen
30x40" / $7500.00
I experienced this many nights, in my boat on the beautiful and bountiful La. coast. Well painted and one of my Gallery favorites.
The Lake at Audobon Park
Kolb's, on St. Charles
Oil on Linen / 36x48 / $9500
Though I missed the pleasure of dining at Kolb's, many of my peers told me that it was special. I much admired the signs and wrought iron.
Carthage Bluff Marina,
Lower Amite River
I kept my boat at this marina, as it was only a few minutes to the mouth and Lake Maurepas. Very special area.
Cathy's Creek, Tunica Hills
Oil, 36x48, $7500
Tunica Hills is one of the most beautiful and unique places in Louisiana. This Creek is on Como Plantation, bordering the Miss. River.
Burning of the Mittie Stephens. Oil on linen, 40x64", $12,500
There are no images of this noble boat, other than that on a Song Sheet dedicated to the tradgedy. Jefferson, Tx. was the fartherest point West which - before rails - that had access to then modern transport. The Museum in Jefferson, located by the 'haunted Hotel - is very interesting, as is the town's history.
